spilt milk art

We made "spilt milk art" by using a dropper to drop white paint onto colored paper and then folding it over and opening it up to see a design. When Kobi opened his he exclaimed "my picture looks beautiful." Etan thought his looked like a zebra and expressed his enjoyment of this project by saying "I want to make another one!"

water table fun

Our water table is filled with different objects like corks, sponges, shells and pebbles. The children are exploring the buoyancy of the various objects.

Hammer & Nails

"it's a rocket ship"

We have also been playing with different construction manipulatives in preparation for Sukkot. While hammering different shapes onto a cork board, Benjamin made a pattern -- two blue and two yellow. "I'm doing it so tight," he said as he hammered in the nails. Mendel said he was building a sukkah.

Parent Social & Orientation Night

Thanks Moms and Dads for coming out and getting a taste of what we do in our classroom. It was wonderful seeing you. I hope you enjoyed your evening.

Look what happened to the apples when they were placed in milk, lemon juice and water!!

Welcome to our new friend Benjamin Reynolds.

The shofar factory visited school and we watched how a ram's horn is cleaned, sawed, sanded and shellacked to become a real shofar. Thanks Ben and Leila for helping to sand it.

We made a graph to see which type of apple was our personal favorite, as well as our class favorite. The majority of the class liked Red Delicious best.
Sam feeling the vibrations from teh drum during music with Morah Adina.

We stamped with real apples and paint. Etan and Kobi really enjoyed this project.

We painted bubble wrap and pressed paper on top of it. Abigail had fun with the sponge roller and Max is thrilled to discover that when you lift up the paper it looks like a honey comb
The children enjoyed shaping red and green play-doh into apples and adding stems and leaves. We had some very realistic looking apples and some very original and creative apples.
